Telangana International Seed Testing Authority (TISTA) is constructed in an area of 1530.51 sq. yards with 14652 sq.ft plinth area in two floors (Ground floor and first floor) with well-equipped state of art facilities and it is the largest public sector seed testing laboratory in the country. The laboratory is facilitating seed testing for physical purity, genetic purity, moisture, germination, viability, vigor and seed health tests.
The Seed Testing Laboratory of TSSOCA has become an ISTA member laboratory during the year 2016 and has been participating in the proficiency test rounds from the year 2018 onwards.
In view of qualification in the proficiency test rounds, the laboratory has submitted the quality documentation consisting of Quality manual, SOPs (System, Technical & Testing), work Instructions to the ISTA. After careful examination of the documentation of our laboratory, ISTA has intimated that the audit will be conducted.
Accordingly, audit was conducted by ISTA during the month of October 2021 through virtual mode due to international travel restriction in view of the ongoing pandemic.
The auditors were from Switzerland (System) and Israel (Technical) who were well knowledgeable and experienced in their respective aspects. The audit was performed on three days (05 – 07 October, 2021) and as per the audit report, the corrective actions were carried out by the laboratory.
After executing all necessary corrective actions, the ISTA has accredited our laboratory for carrying outseed sampling, physical purity analysis, other seed determination germination and moisture determination for cereals, pulses, vegetables, spices, herbs and medicinal species.
The Seed Testing Laboratory is committed to conduct the seed testing analysis systematically as per the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) rules and procedures facilitating the seed producers/farmers to sell their products both in the domestic and international markets.
The laboratory is working with a proactive, customer-sensitive, responsive approach through technological up gradation, knowledge sharing, and proficiency enhancement by maintaining a conducive work culture.

To maintain and make available the quality seed to the farming community of the country by providing totally independent seed testing services and quality assurance tests leading to a well-built viable seed industry contributing to the National economy.
The Seed Testing Laboratory maintains close contacts with the customers in order to keep abreast of their requirements and expectations and provide independent, timely, reliable and traceable results which are essential for their business.
The Laboratory maintains average turnaround time for carrying out the seed testing activities of the submitted samples from the date of sample entry till the date of laboratory card completion thereby providing quicker services to the customers.
